Around 11:30 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to a check on a person who appeared to be in distress in the area of Cumberland Avenue and Emerson Street.
At the scene, police say they found 17-year-old Nekevion Brodie, who smelled like marijuana and alcohol.

When authorities ran Brodie’s name, they say they discovered he’s a firearms offender and currently on parole.
Brodie was arrested on several charges including child in possession of a firearm, public intoxication, and possession of marijauna.
Since Brodie had a previous firearm possession charge, police say his charge from Thursday night’s arrest was enhanced to a felony.
