SEWARD COUNTY, Neb. (KOLN) – Two men are facing multiple felony charges after a Seward County deputy found firearms and 30 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop.
On Nov. 24, a deputy pulled over a GMC Sierra on I-80 westbound, south of Seward, for following too close and driving on the shoulder. The deputy made contact with the driver, Branch Enlow, 39, and his passenger, Robert Enlow, 65.
During the traffic stop, the deputy became suspicious that they were involved in criminal activity. Court documents show the deputy asked to search the vehicle but was denied consent.
The deputy sent a K9 to inspect the vehicle which detected drugs near the tailgate. The deputy then performed a search of the vehicle.
During the search, documents show the deputy found a backpack behind the rear passenger seat with $65,000 inside and two loaded pistols, which were never disclosed during the stop. They also reportedly found 30 pounds of marijuana in plastic packages.
Branch and Robert were arrested and taken to the Seward County Jail.
Both men were each charged with two counts of possessing a firearm by a prohibited person, two counts of possessing a firearm with a felony 2A drug violation, possession of a controlled substance without a tax stamp and possessing money while violating 28-416. Their bonds were set at 10% of $350,000.
They will be appear in Seward County Court on Dec. 11.
