CALIFORNIA CITY, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Firefighters successfully extinguished a blaze at a marijuana grow facility early Wednesday morning, officials said.
At approximately 2:41 a.m., emergency responders arrived at the scene of a reported fire at a 10,000 square-foot facility in the 2100 block of Maverick Street. Upon arrival, they encountered heavy smoke and flames emanating from the building.
Firefighters quickly moved to extinguish the fire and confirmed that all individuals had been evacuated safely. No injuries were reported.
The fire was brought under control within 45 minutes.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The Cal City Police Department, Kern County Fire Department, Edwards Air Force Base Fire Department, and Emergency Communication Centers assisted in the incident.
