BREVARD COUNTY • FLORIDA — Nathan Williams, a Florida criminal defense attorney, has been arrested for smuggling drug-soaked papers into the Duval County Jail.
These papers, laced with synthetic marijuana, were introduced using Williams’ professional access.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested Williams on Sunday evening, charging him with eight felony counts:
● 2 counts of Giving Drugs to an Inmate
● 2 counts of Giving or Receiving Communication from an Inmate
● 2 counts of Conspiracy to Introduce Controlled Substances into the Jail
● 2 counts of Unlawful Use of a Two-Way Communication Device

Details of the Operation
Investigators believe that Williams coordinated with inmates and their families to smuggle drug-laced legal documents into the jail in exchange for money. The papers were infused with ADB-PINACA, a Schedule I controlled substance also known as synthetic marijuana, “K2,” or “Paper Dope.”
This arrest is part of Operation Stamp Collection, a long-term investigation targeting illegal drug flow into the Duval County Jail. Since the operation’s launch in February 2024, JSO has made 21 arrests related to drug smuggling in the facility.
Impact of the Investigation: JSO initiated the operation in response to increasing overdoses within correctional facilities. Since the start of Operation Stamp Collection, overdoses at the Duval County Jail have decreased by 61%:
2023: 23 overdoses
2024: 9 overdoses
