CLEVELAND — There are some people looking for deals on appliances and electronics for Black Friday into Cyber Monday, but other people are looking for deals at dispensaries. That’s why such locations here in Ohio are bracing for crowds on “Green Friday,” with recreational marijuana now available for purchase across the state.
“The Friday after Thanksgiving (and) the Wednesday before are usually just two really busy days for the cannabis industry,” says Cody Loyd, general manager of The Landing in downtown Cleveland. “In my experience, the last few years it’s been that way, so we’re expecting kind of more of the same.”
Loyd says management is doing its part in making sure people get through lines as quickly as possible by bringing in more staff, especially with the deals the dispensary has throughout the weekend. Some items are discounted at least 30%.
“We’ve got a 30% pre-order discount, (and some items) are (discounted) deeper than that,” Loyd added.
The Landing says customers can do their part to get through quicker, such as by placing orders online, looking at the dispensary’s menu ahead of time, and most importantly, being prepared to wait longer than usual since this is the first Black Friday where cannabis is legal for Ohioans.
“Come on down and enjoy the fact that you can shop at a dispensary legally in Ohio now,” Loyd told 3News. “Feel free to ask questions. There’s a lot on the menu, a ton of options, and we’ve got a lot of great bud tenders.”
The Landing says most of its promotions and deals will last throughout the weekend, but the close-out prices end on Nov. 29.
