Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign reacted to former President Donald Trump’s endorsement of cannabis legalization in Florida with a memo arguing that his former administration “took marijuana reform backwards.”

The American Cancer Society is urging California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) to veto a bill to legalize cannabis cafes, arguing it would “roll back decades of hard-won protections of everyone’s right to breathe clean, smoke-free air.”

A new study of nurse practitioner students found that 94 percent think medical marijuana “should be legalized in all US states” and that 97 percent say cannabis education “should be included in NP program curricula” but that only 30 percent have received “in-depth education on the topic.”

NORML Deputy Director Paul Armentano argues in a new Marijuana Moment op-ed that the Drug Enforcement Administration’s upcoming cannabis hearing presents an “opportunity for advocates to reinforce the case” for rescheduling, and they “should continue to remain optimistic” that change “is more likely than not.”

Massachusetts lawmakers are pushing the state treasurer to make a decision on whether to reinstate or fire the state’s suspended top marijuana regulator after months of ongoing lack of clarity.

Oklahoma’s attorney general touted a prosecution over an alleged “straw ownership” scheme involving medical cannabis businesses.

The Florida marijuana legalization campaign received another $10 million contribution from Trulieve and $1 million from Verano Holdings.

An Alabama judge will hold a hearing on a request to allow medical cannabis business licensing to proceed on Tuesday.
