INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WPTA) – On Monday, House Republicans voted down an amendment to a bill that would have reclassified cannabis in Indiana.

Fort Wayne State Rep. Kyle Miller presented the bill calling for cannabis to no longer be a Schedule 1 drug. “This was an opportunity to start the conversation about the possibility of legalizing marijuana in our state, and House Republicans have signaled they aren’t interested in bringing hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue to Indiana,” Miller said following the vote.

Several other cannabis-related bills are making their way through the legislative process now.
