Police have issued advice to the public on spotting the signs of cannabis grows and organised crime.
Officers from the organised crime group of Dorset Police have issued advice to the public so that, if they see signs of unusual or suspicious activity, then they can play a part in recognising it and reporting it to the force.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “These signs may indicate that an organised crime gang is growing cannabis in your neighbourhood, with the associated distribution and exploitation of vulnerable people who are made to do the work for the gangs.”
According to police these signs include:
An increase in visitors and cars to a house or flat or new faces appearing, at unsocial times all night and day
Be aware of secretive behaviours with windows covered inside, day and night.
Bright light at all times of day, from windows, lofts or garages.
An unusual degree of security such as locks, fences, cameras on a residential property.
Trailing cables, electrical installations running off street lighting.
Report any suspicious activity at https://orlo.uk/jpiZ9 or by calling 101. If a crime is in progress, always dial 999.
