The Hanford Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit arrested a man on Wednesday after an investigation led to search of his home, where over 100 marijuana vape pens were seized.

On Feb. 26, the Hanford Police Department Street Crimes Unit (SCU) was investigating Jesus Suarez, who was allegedly illegally selling vape pens. These vapes were labeled with a warning that read “contained cannabis, schedule 1 controlled substance.” Street Crimes Unit Investigators obtained knowledge that Suarez was selling within the cities of Hanford and Lemoore.

On Wednesday, at approximately 12:54 pm, Suarez’s vehicle was captured in Hanford via Flock cameras located throughout the city. SCU Investigators located Suarez’s vehicle in the Burger King Parking Lot, near 11th Ave and Fargo Ave.

Suarez drove into the parking lot and parked next to a 2011 Chevy pickup truck. SCU Investigators interrupted an illegal narcotics sale that was going to occur between Suarez and the driver of the Chevy pickup.

A search of Suarez’s vehicle resulted in the seizure of several vape pens.  Also inside Saurez’s vehicle was a plastic bag with approximately $2,500 in various denominations, consistent with street-level drug transactions.

A search warrant was obtained for Suarez’s residence in the 100 block of W. Lang Street. During the search, SCU Investigators seized over 100 unopened vapes and cartridges.

An unregistered loaded .38 Special Colt revolver was also located inside Suarez’s bedroom.

Suarez was transported to the Kings County Jail, where he was questioned and admitted to selling marijuana vapes. Suarez was booked for Possession of an Unregistered Firearm, Possession of Marijuana for Sales, and Transportation with Intent to Sell Marijuana.
