[#item_full_content] The Consulate-General of Japan in Dubai is urging caution, noting that there have been multiple cases of Japanese nationals being arrested and detained for possessing CBD-related products. Even products distributed as so-called CBD-related items that contain cannabis-derived cannabidiol (CBD), cannabinol (CBN), or cannabigerol (CBG) and are not classified as narcotics in Japan or other countries may still be treated as narcotics and subject to enforcement. There have also been cases of travelers being apprehended while transiting at Dubai International Airport. The Narcotics Control Department of Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare offers pre-clearance confirmation for people considering importing CBD-related products who cannot determine whether their product constitutes a narcotic.
