(Willmar MN-) A public hearing will be held Tuesday on Kandiyohi County’s proposed cannabis ordinance. The 2022 Minnesota Legislature approved recreational cannabis, with licenses to sell the substance to go out early next year, so cities and counties have been busy coming up with ordinances to deal with it. …At this point it looks like people will have the same regulations on smoking cannabis in public that apply to smoking cigarettes. Berg and Imdieke say whatever ordinance the county adopts, they may have to amend it if the state office of cannabis management makes changes in the rules. The public hearing will take place shortly after the meeting begins at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the Kandiyohi County Health and Human Services Building on North Highway 71 in Willmar. The public is invited to come and give their input on what they would like to see in a cannabis ordinance.
