LASSEN COUNTY, Calif. — Around 10,000 marijuana plants were seized during a Lassen County drug bust over the past few weeks.

The Lassen County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) said that with help fromLassen County Code Enforcement, they began investigating the illegal cultivation of marijuana occurring in the Ravendale area in Aug. of 2024.

“Personnel from the Sheriff’s Office flew two large suspected grow sites in Ravendale, located off Tuledad Road. The grow sites were determined to be on two separate parcels,” said LCSO.

Officials said that the two locations had around 18 large greenhouses, outbuildings and trailers. It was confirmed that marijuana was being grown at these locations and search warrants for the properties were issued.

Search warrants on both parcels were served on Sept. 4, 2024 by the LCSO andCalifornia Department of Corrections and Rehabilitations. Lassen County Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT) utilized a long-range acoustic device (LRAD) and made several announcements and the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office Drone Team was deployed.

LCSO said that no suspects wereapprehended at either location.

A search of the greenhouses and outbuildings allowed law enforcement to locate 5,800 marijuana plants at the first location and4,200 marijuana plants at the second location. LCSO says that harvested marijuana was also located at both sites.The marijuana found at both locations was eradicated along with the greenhouses and cultivation material used in supporting the illegal operation.

LCSO says that the owners of both locations will be taxedbased on the size of each greenhouse located.
