PETALING JAYA: Information and documents linked to the audit reports on the Human Resource Development Corporation that were handed over on Friday (July 5) will be studied for elements of corruption, says the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission.

“The documents were handed over today to the MACC by the ministry’s secretary-general Datuk Seri Khairul Dzaimee Daud at 11.30am.

“The MACC will study the documents to determine any elements of graft, misappropriation or abuse of power under the MACC Act 2009,” it said in a statement Friday.

The MACC also said that it would investigate the documents to find any weaknesses in governance.

Suspicious real estate deals and high-risk investments were some of the issues identified by the Public Accounts Committee’s (PAC) in its report on HRD Corp.

One such deal was the purchase of Menara Ikhlas for RM202.5mil in February 2021, where a deposit of RM120mil was paid up front to a company named Crystal Clear Technology.
