Anthony Stevenson, of Cherwell Road, was sentenced to three years and one months’ imprisonment at a hearing at the town’s Crown Court on Wednesday, January 15.

It was after he pleaded guilty, at the same hearing, to one count each of possession with intent to supply class A drugs- namely cocaine, possession of class B drugs namely cannabis and possession of criminal property.

This is in relation to an incident that occurred on November 27, 2014, when officers conducted a warrant at Stevenson’s home address.

During the warrant, Stevenson was witnessed throwing away cocaine, whilst cannabis was also found and criminal property of £660 in cash.

The cocaine was believed to be worth around £2,400.

Stevenson was arrested and charged on November 28 and remanded to face trial.

Investigating officer, PC Ben McNeill said: “Stevenson was clearly dealing drugs in the area and is now rightly in jail.

“Drugs have extremely harmful effects on our communities and only bring misery and violence to our streets.

“We will continue to proactively investigate offenders such as Stevenson and bring them before the courts to face justice.”
