Governor Josh Shapiro wants Pennsylvania’s general fund to get nearly $51.5 billion worth of stuff — as he puts it — done in 2025-26.

Can he actually pay for it?

Shapiro rolled out his budget proposal for the next fiscal year on Tuesday, packed full of initiatives the governor believes will boost Pennsylvania’s economy, deal with shortfalls in school funding, improve healthcare services, and myriad other initiatives.
