In July, Arkansans spent $22.9 million on medical marijuana for a total of 6,467 pounds, bringing the overall amount for 2024 to $158.5 million and 42,602 pounds. In 2023, sales reached $164.6 million for July.

According to Scott Hardin, spokesperson for the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration, Arkansans have spent approximately $1.2 billion on medical marijuana since the first dispensary opened in 2019. Hardin says although overall spending has decreased since last year, they continue to see pounds sold increasing, indicating lower prices.

A monthly breakdown of sales, provided by the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration, shows Plant Family Therapeutics of Mountain Home having sold 193.33 pounds in July.

The Arkansas Department of Health reports more than 105,544 active patient cards.

Suite 443 in Hot Springs led dispensaries in sales with 731 pounds and Natural Relief Dispensary in Sherwood followed closely with 540 pounds sold.

Currently there are 37 dispensaries in operation across the state. Green Springs Dispensary was closed June 12 following a decision by the ABC Board to uphold permit revocation. Amendment 98 allows for 40 dispensaries in Arkansas.
