NORTHWOOD, Iowa – A second Missouri man has pleaded guilty over marijuana being trucked through Worth County.
Ronell Lee Ross, 32 of Ferguson, Missouri, entered a guilty plea to possession with intent to deliver marijuana. A charge of possession of a firearm by a felon was dismissed as part of a plea deal. Kenmontay Christopher Holman, 25 of St. Louis, Missouri, previously pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana-1st offense. Holman was originally charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana.
Court documents state Ross and Holman were in a semi that was stopped on Interstate 35 on February 18. Investigators say Ross was found with a black backpack that held three bags of marijuana and a firearm. A search also found a suitcase in the semi holding about 30 to 50 clear plastic baggies that investigators said could be used to individually package the marijuana.
Ross’ sentencing is set for April 20. Holman has already been sentenced to two days in jail and a $250 fine.
