PARAGOULD, Ark. (KAIT) – Police arrested a Paragould mom after they said she “pressured” her child to take THC gummies.
On Jan. 16, Greene County District Court Judge Daniel Stidham found probable cause to arrest 40-year-old Lacey Lashley on one count of introducing a controlled substance into the body of another person, a Class C felony. She is also charged with second-degree child endangerment, a Class A misdemeanor.
On Jan. 6, the Arkansas Child Abuse Hotline received a report regarding a parent giving a teenager marijuana gummies and alcohol on multiple occasions, the affidavit stated.
According to the court documents, toxicology results received on Jan. 14 showed the child had tested positive for THC.
During a Jan. 16 interview with an Arkansas State Police Crimes Against Children Division investigator, the victim reportedly said Lashley “had provided her THC gummies and pressured her into taking them on multiple occasions over the past seven months.”
Detective Sergeant Jacob Higdon stated Lashley “made incriminating statements” during a Jan. 16 Mirandized interview.
Lashley is being held on a $5,000 bond at the Greene County Detention Center. The judge also ordered her to wear an ankle monitor and to “follow precisely each and every Department of Human Services (DHS) order and directive.”
