Portland-based cannabis company Grön on Monday announced the release of two new weed edibles featuring designs created especially for Halloween. The new products, creepily glow-in-the-dark Phantom Pearls and a super-sized weed gummy, will be available for a limited time at select licensed marijuana dispensaries in six states beginning on October 1.

The new Halloween edibles from Grön (pronounced grewn) continue the company’s history of seasonal product releases. The limited-run Phantom Pearls mirror the company’s popular Sugar-Coated Pearls cannabis-infused gummies, only with a ghostly twist. Both the white lychee lemonade flavored gummies and the packaging produce a special glow-in-the-dark effect when viewed under black light, offering a spooky and fun experience for adult Halloween revelers. Grön’s Phantom Pearls are gluten-free, soy-free, and produce a sativa effect from a full-spectrum cannabis infusion, with 10mg of THC in each pearl, or 100mg THC per package.

The Mystery MEGA weed gummy is a new addition to the MEGA family of flavors. This indica powered edible packs a punch, with a mystery flavor that will remain under wraps until later this year. The Mystery MEGA consists of a large, sugar-coated gummy that is five times larger than Grön’s standard 10mg Sugar-Coated Pearls, with 100mg of THC per package. The Mystery MEGA contains the full spectrum of cannabinoids and is gluten-free and soy-free.

Halloween’s Not Just For Kids Anymore

Once considered a holiday reserved primarily for children, Halloween has become a moneymaker among adults over the past several decades. Data shows that a third of Generation Z consumers planned to spend at least $100 on Halloween last year, while an even larger share of Millennials planned to spend a similar amount. Christine Apple, CEO and founder of Grön, says that the company’s new edible release gives new options for Halloween parties for grownups.

“What makes these edibles stand out is that they offer the same sense of celebration and indulgence that people love about alcohol, but in a way that’s more fun and, let’s be honest, a bit more in tune with the spirit of Halloween,” Apple says in an exclusive virtual interview. “Whether you’re hosting or attending a party, edibles allow you to enjoy the night in a social and safe way — without having to worry about the hangover the next day.”

“The beauty of our Halloween products is that they’re easy to incorporate into any party,” she adds. “Hosts can add Grön edibles to the bar or bar cart as a unique alternative to traditional drinks, or set up an edible-tasting station for a mysterious twist. And with our black-and-white Halloween design, they blend seamlessly into any spooky décor.”

Grön’s limited-time Halloween edibles will drop at licensed dispensaries in Oregon, Missouri, Arizona, New Jersey, New York and Ohio starting on October 1st. They will be available at Curaleaf, Trulieve, Good Day Farm, MPX, Verano, Standard Wellness, Nectar, Travel Agency, Strain Stars, The Flower Shop, Zen Leaf or Gotham locations in those states, or consumers can find a retailer selling the Halloween products via Grön’s store locator.

Along with the new Halloween edible products, Grön will also be offering special edition T-shirts, popcorn boxes, sticker sheets and movie posters, all in the theme of 1950s horror movies. The limited-edition merchandise will be available as a gift with purchase, or customers can enter for chances to win the items after a purchase of Phantom Pearls or Mystery MEGAs.

“Halloween is a big deal at Grön, and we love having fun with this holiday,” Apple said in a statement from the company. “This year, we decided to bring that fun to life and infuse it into our products through these spooky new Phantom pearls. We’re really excited to see what our customers think of the mystery flavors and glow-in-the-dark packaging, and we’re thrilled to help spice up your Halloween experience!”
