BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WBNG) — OCM backed Binghamton Mayor Jared Kraham after Maryam’s Taste of Halal raid.
Maryam’s taste of halal was investigated by the New York State Office of Cannabis Management, or OCM, where illicit cannabis products were seized.
The OCM said it backs Kraham’s sentiment that local law enforcement should be allowed a bigger role in closing illegal cannabis shops.
“We are in support of that any location via county or city that has passed a local law. We have worked with those jursidcition to get them trained on what we do at OCM enforcement,” said NYS OCM Director of Enforcement and Investigations Daniel Haughney.
The City of Binghamton emphasized removing illicit cannabis shops in the city and promoting legal adult-use dispensaries.
