Deputies found the drugs during a search warrant at a residence on Kips Lane after they had been to a funeral service for an officer on Wednesday.

Narcotics officers found 10 pounds of marijuana, a concentrated form of THC, also known as “DAB”, in glass jars and a box of THC vape pens.

“This operation was conducted immediately following a funeral service for our fallen deputy,” Ravenell said. “But despite our grief, we’re still serving the community.”

Boneparte faces a 10-year prison sentence and a $10,000 fine.

This investigation is ongoing.
