MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – West Tennessee Drug Task Force seized over 200 pounds of drugs from a Memphis storage unit on Wednesday.
Agents served a search warrant on the block of Mount Moriah and confiscated 220 pounds of marijuana.
Authorities said the pallets were being delivered to the storage unit by a trucking company that was unaware of the crime.
When a man arrived to receive the load, he was arrested.
Agents also confiscated another five pounds of marijuana and $2,000 in cash from his vehicle.
It was later determined the suspect was wanted in at least two other states on outstanding drug and weapon charges and that the marijuana load was from Oklahoma.
“This is yet another case made possible by the Governor’s Violent Crime Initiative Fund (VCIF) grant and If you’ve been following our page the last couple of weeks, you’ve seen that we are serious about our mission,” said Drug Task Force Director Johnie Carter.
