Police: 2 charged, accused of trafficking marijuana at VIP Smoke Shop in Newtown
Two people have been charged after being accused of trafficking marijuana at a VIP Smoke Shop in Newtown.Newtown police chief Tom Synan said Abdalah Ezzuldin Jararweh, 29, and Leen Hani Sabri Abu Saideh, 30, have been arrested.Jararweh, the owner of the store on Main Street, has been charged with trafficking in marijuana, while Saideh, an employee, has been charged with trafficking marijuana and selling tobacco products to people under 21.Synan said more charges could be filed. A search warrant was executed at the location on Monday.The arrests come less than a week after a series of raids at VIP Smoke Shops in the area, including at the VIP Smoke Shop Warehouse in Norwood.
