Two people have been charged, after NRP found illegal cannabis in two Niagara Falls stores

Two cannabis stores in Niagara Falls have been shut down after police found over $250,000 in illegal product.

Police began an investigation last month into the illegal sale of cannabis, finding the stores were not authorized by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission to sell.

Search warrants were used on September 10th, which found the illegal cannabis and related products, as well as some money, and electronic devices.

Police have charged 39-year old Lehlohonolo Molefe of Toronto with the following, who was kept in custody, waiting to appear before a judge. 

Possess cannabis for the purpose of selling
Possession of illicit cannabis
Possession of property obtained by crime
Possession of a prohibited weapon
Fail to comply with release order – two counts

Police also charged 60-year old Misty-Lyn Drozdowsky of Port Colborne with: 

Possess cannabis for the purpose of selling
Possession of illicit cannabis
Possession of property obtained by crime

She was released from police custody with a court appearance scheduled for October 21st.
