An estimated 10 pounds of marijuana was confiscated from a Sisson Avenue smoke shop this week after a search and seizure warrant was executed there, police said.

The search and seizure warrant was executed at Union Spot Exotics at 270 Sisson Ave. and in addition to the marijuana, THC products, including vapes and “numerous” edibles were confiscated, police said. Also confiscated at the business was $5,136 in cash, police said Friday.

A variety of edibles, vapes and THC products were seized from Union Exotics smoke shop in Hartford, police said.

The marijuana was “packaged and unpackaged,” police said. The number of THC products was estimated at 100, police said.

The business is in the location of the former Half Door in Hartford’s West End, which shut down about two years ago.

Police said Alejandro Cervantes, 20, of Jamaica, New York, was charged Wednesday with possession of controlled substance with intent to sell.

A man who was working at the store Friday showed a reporter a video of police arriving at the store, and said they took “everything.” He said he did not know why the items were taken. The store remains open.

Records indicate that Jocelyn Castillo of Hartford established Union Exotics Corp. on Nov. 5, listing its address as 270 Sisson Ave.

Police said the raid was part of cracking down on sale of allegedly illegal substances in the city.
