Officers from the Bolton South Neighbourhood Team said they were executing a warrant for the property where they found dozens of cannabis plants.

They said that electricity had been bypassed to power the farm.

They said: “Officers from the South Neighbourhood Team have executed a warrant today at an address in Kearsley, locating a cannabis farm and bypassed electricity.

“Enquiries are ongoing and officers will remain on scene and in the area to offer reassurance to the local community.”

A number of cannabis farms have been busted by officers in recent months.

Last month, officers from the South Neighbourhood Team discovered 40 cannabis plants in an address in Little Lever.

They executed a warrant on January 5, where they found the growing operation.

Officers said that the electricity had been bypassed and a number of attempts were made to conceal the location.

Police have not divulged the named to the road where the raid took place.

A raid in Heaton on December 28 discovered hundreds of cannabis plants, which were destroyed by officers.

Officers from the Bolton North Neighbourhood Team executed a warrant at the address which contained around 200 plants.

They were supported by officers from the Bolton West Neighbourhood Team.

At the start of this month, two cousins were sentenced to a year in prison each for running a huge cannabis farm in the centre of Bolton.

Police had been called to the site on November 27 of last year.

Emanuel and Armardo Kovaci, 21 and 18, were both arrested after being found with more than 400 cannabis plants worth around £100,000 at a disused restaurant on the town centre.
