Nearly seven pounds of marijuana, as well as quantities of crack cocaine and heroin and fentanyl, did not make it to the streets according to New Castle County Police.

Members of the Safe Streets Task Force began three separate drug investigations last fall. Suspects from Wilmington, Newark and Townsend were recently arrested.

 County Police said 32-year-old Dontae Sutton of Newark was arrested after a search warrant turned up 2.3-pounds of marijuana, 28.3 grams of THC wax, and packaging materials. Sutton is charged with:

-One felony count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance
-One felony count of possession of a controlled substance (Tier 1)
-One misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia

Sutton was arraigned and released on $6,100 secured bail.

January 21st, according to County Police, 43-year-old Dwayne McIntyre of Wilmington was charged after a search warrant carried out at his residence led to seizure of 155 grams of crack cocaine and 21 grams of heroin / fentanyl equivalent to about 707 baggies. McIntyre was being held at Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $51,000 secured bail facing these charges:

-One misdemeanor count of resisting arrest
-One misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia

Earlier this month on January 9th, 23-year-old Joshua Branch was arrested after a search of his Townsend residence turned up 4.5-pounds of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was charged with:

-2 felony counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance
-1 felony count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance (Tier 2)
-1 felony count of possession of a controlled substance (Tier 2)
-1 misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia

Branch was arraigned and released on $16,100 unsecured bail
