COOS BAY, Ore. – An investigation into an alleged illegal marijuana growing operation in Coos Bay led to a mass seizure of plants, guns, and cash on Thursday, according to the Coos County Sheriff’s Office.
CCSO officials said that a detective with the South Coast Interagency Narcotics Team and a Coquille Tribal Police officer conducted an investigation on November 20 into a reportedly illegal marijuana growing operation in the 93000 block of Green Acres Lane. After obtaining a search warrant for the home, CCSO investigators confirmed a substantial marijuana growing operation on site and seized about 100 marijuana plants, eight guns, and about $3,000 in cash, according to sheriff’s deputies. Authorities said the operation appeared to potentially generate hundreds of thousands of untaxed revenue over time.
Also responding to the scene were the Oregon Water Master and Coos County code enforcement staff to investigate violations found at the scene, sheriff’s officials said.
