CHEATHAM COUNTY, Tenn. (WZTV) — A Middle Tennessee teacher was arrested for alleged marijuana possession on school grounds, a police report confirms.

The Cheatham County teacher was arrested on Feb. 14 for bringing THC carts on school property and public intoxication, the report says.

The incident report says the man was a teacher at Sycamore High School. The school confirmed he has since been fired from his position.

A Cheatham County officer responded to the school for a report of a teacher “possibly intoxicated.” Upon arrival, the officer conducted field sobriety tests.

The suspect “admitted to taking his wife’s medication” which he told the officer was antidepressant. A Drug Recognize Expert was then called to the school and found the teacher was under the influence of THC.

His vehicle was then searched with “reasonable suspicion” which yielded eight carts of THC.

The man was arrested for having the THC carts on school property, a drug free zone, as well as public intoxication.
