RICHMOND, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Starting Friday, November 15, retail locations selling a hemp product intended for smoking, or an edible hemp product can start enrolling in Hemp Product Retail Facility Registration. Retailers can start this day, but all are required to register with the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services by December 31. There is a $1000 registration fee and applications will be considered in the order in which they are received… and the registrations are annual. Failure to register by December 31 could result in a $2000 civil penalty for a first time, and repeat violators could face additional, increased civil penalties.Click here for all the information and registration application.
