SAGINAW, MI — A Saginaw man has received jailtime and probation for shooting a coworker earlier this year inside a marijuana-growing operation, severing the wounded man’s spine.

Owen M. Pipkins, 52, on the afternoon of Monday, Dec. 9, appeared before Saginaw County Circuit Judge Darnell Jackson for sentencing, having pleaded no contest in October to assault with intent to do great bodily harm. The charge is a 10-year felony.
