San Rafael police seized a loaded handgun, 70 rounds of ammunition and more than 2 pounds of marijuana after a traffic stop.
The incident happened Saturday morning after an officer saw a driver break the speed limit on Bellam Boulevard. The driver was carrying the gun, which had no serial number, in his waistband, police said.
Jeremy Abdiel Carmona Salas, 21, of Petaluma was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, possessing marijuana for sale, transporting marijuana for sale, carrying a concealed weapon and having a loaded firearm in public. His bail amount was set at $20,000.
Carmona Salas was released from the Marin County Jail after posting bail, sheriff’s Sgt. Adam Schermerhorn said. Carmona Salas could not be reached for comment.
