KXLG – Brookings, SD The South Dakota Agricultural Heritage Museum and the South Dakota Industrial Hemp Association will present “The Future of Hemp,” a program focused on industrial hemp production in South Dakota, at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 6.
The program, which is free and open to the public, will be held at the museum, located at 977 11th St., Brookings.
During the program, a variety of topics will be discussed, including the differences between hemp and marijuana, how to plant and harvest hemp, and the various products made from industrial hemp.
“Since the museum’s exhibit ‘On the Farm Front: Agriculture during WWII’ discusses hemp production during the 1940s, we have received numerous questions about modern industrial hemp cultivation,” said Gwen McCausland, director of the South Dakota Agricultural Heritage Museum. “We are excited to have representatives from the South Dakota Industrial Hemp Association share their expertise on industrial hemp production in South Dakota.”
