CARBONDALE, Ill. (WSIL) — Southern Illinois University is gearing up for their 5th Annual Hemp Cannabis Symposium.
SIU symposium organizers say this year’s event will showcase the latest trends, research, and opportunities in the hemp and cannabis sectors.
The 5th Annual Hemp Cannabis Symposium is September 27, 2024! Supporting the symposium theme, “Cannabis Science: Advancing Academic and Industry Collaboration” we will showcase the latest trends, research, and opportunities in the hemp and cannabis sectors, offering valuable networking opportunities and exposure to a diverse audience of professionals and enthusiasts alike. The event’s theme “Cannabis Science: Advancing Academic and Industry Collaboration”, is a reflection of this being a chance for networking opportunities as well as exposure to a diverse audience of professionals and those interested in learning more about cannabis and hemp.
Organizers say there will be opportunities available for students who want to do presentations on their hemp/cannabis research. Poster Session attendees can attend free. They say there will also be tours of the new Biolaunch laboratories and Poster Session spaces for student research are key features as well as industry exhibits and biotechnology core laboratories involved in the event. This collaborative event offers educational presentations, local food, live music, a fermentation tent, and over 20 artists and vendors.
