The Arkansas State Police arrested an Oklahoma man on Christmas Eve after seizing 248 pounds of illegal marijuana during a traffic stop, the agency announced Monday.
Xiong Ren, 53, of Chickasha, Okla., was pulled over around 6:50 p.m. Tuesday night by a state trooper near the 165-mile marker in Lonoke County for a traffic violation.
Ren was driving a white 2021 Ford F-150.
A search of the truck’s bed resulted in police finding 207 vacuum-sealed packages of marijuana in six large suitcases.
Each package weighed approximately 1.2 pounds, for a total weight of 248 pounds.
Ren, who told investigators he was travelling to Wisconsin for Christmas, was charged with possession with intent to deliver and unauthorized use of another person’s property to facilitate a crime, both felonies.
