FARMERS BRANCH, Texas — Detectives from the Farmers Branch Police Department and agents from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration executed a narcotics search warrant early Wednesday morning at a warehouse complex on Valley View Lane. The operation resulted in the seizure of approximately $400,000 in cash and over 4,600 pounds of marijuana.

The investigation, initiated by a tip from an informant, evolved into a months-long effort uncovering a sophisticated illegal drug operation, according to a press release from the Farmers Branch Police Department. Detectives discovered that suspects were forging Certificates of Authenticity for legal Hemp and CBD products, replacing them with illegal narcotics such as marijuana/THC and psilocybin. These products were then repackaged at the warehouse and distributed to vape shops across the Metroplex, as well as other cities in Texas and nationwide.

The Farmers Branch Police Department conducted several undercover purchases, acquiring items disguised as legal products and submitting them for laboratory testing. The tests confirmed that these products contained high levels of THC, some reaching 60-70%, along with various concentrations of psilocybin.

While individuals present in the building were briefly detained, no arrests were made on-site during the execution of the search warrant. The DEA will now lead the investigation and handle the prosecution of any federal charges, stated the source.

“The Farmers Branch Police Department is committed to protecting our community, and we will actively investigate and prosecute those who choose to violate the law,” the department stated. They also expressed gratitude to the DEA for their support and assistance with the investigation.
