Local design firm Nimtim Architects brings attention to hempcrete and timber materials when creating the textural walls of the Hemp House. Nestled in South London, the main focus of the project was to highlight low-carbon materials. The team updated what was a traditional semi-detached home to create a space where the owner could host dinner parties and have a flexible space to grow their family.
The project director of Nimtim Architects, Allie MacKinnon shared with Dezeen, “The clients wanted an open plan, flexible layout for both parents, children, grandparents and guests to enjoy. We designed a space that was open but also created different zones and areas allowing the clients to spend time together whilst doing different thing.”
