Those who have been following Nike’s calendar for years will likely some of its typical biggest days empty-handed. Air Max Day only delivered a fraction of its usual releases, and continuing a pause from the past several April 20ths, there’s nothing major on the docket for the recreational celebration. You can likely chalk that up to increasing legalization efforts across the US, unfortunately clipping the counter-cultural effects of the holiday and the subversive air that Nike SB could reliably tap in to.

Instead, we’re left to color-code explorations of “Hemp,” squarely in focus with the Air Jordan 1 Mid. The earthy shade coats the overlays while utilizing ever-reliable white underpinnings, resulting in a pretty classic color-blocking scheme to fans of the AJ1. Pairing the outsole, collar and Swoosh in grey is a minor way in which this edition breaks that standard, with pops of “Fire Red” allowing some attention-grabbing flair to sneak into this otherwise all-grown-up edition.

As a true GR, don’t expect a concrete date for the Air Jordan 1 Mid “Hemp.” Instead, this pair will likely hit Nike.com somewhat unexpectedly in the coming weeks, retailing for $125 once it does.
