SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WACH) — A man has been arrested and charged with distribution after a traffic stop, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
Luke Taylor, Jr., 35, is charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
Authorities say deputies found around 2000 grams of marijuana during a traffic stop.
While traveling north on Lafayette Drive, a deputy driving an unmarked vehicle was passed at a high speed, authorities said.
The deputy initiated a traffic stop, and while speaking with the driver, the deputy smelled a strong marijuana odor, according to authorities.
Authorities say a search revealed multiple packages of marijuana hidden in multiple locations inside the car.
Taylor was arrested and taken to the Sumter County Detention Center.
He was released on a $5,000 cash surety bond.
