GREENFIELD — The Northwestern District Attorney’s Anti-Crime Task Force and Greenfield Police arrested Greenfield residents Amber Judd, 38, and Tony Carr, 48, on cocaine trafficking charges following a drug bust at Heather Court and Harrison Avenue Tuesday morning.
The investigation by police resulted in the seizure of cocaine, MDMA, clonazepam, more than $1,000 in cash and a handgun, according to Northwestern District Attorney’s Office spokesperson Laurie Loisel.
Anti-Crime Task Force officers from Greenfield, Deerfield, Northfield, Bernardston and Belchertown obtained a search warrant for both Judd’s apartment at Heather Court and Carr’s Harrison Avenue apartment under probable cause that the pair were selling drugs out of both residences, Loisel said.
When the task force became aware that there was a gun on the premises, Loisel added that officers called the State Police Special Tactical Operations Team to assist.
Police searched the residences at approximately 8:45 a.m. and found, in Carr’s apartment, a handgun with a large-capacity magazine, between 36 and 100 grams of cocaine, more than $1,000 in cash and two dogs that were being kept “in very poor condition” in the basement, according to Loisel.
“They found scales, pills, cocaine and cash,” Loisel said. “The firearm and the ammunition were located in an unlocked closet in an unlocked bedroom.”
While Judd was charged with trafficking in cocaine and conspiracy to violate drug laws, Carr faces charges of felony possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm without a license, a firearm violation with two prior violent offenses, possession of a large-capacity firearm, possession of a large-capacity magazine, possession of ammunition without a license, improper storage of a firearm, trafficking in cocaine, possession of MDMA, possession of clonazepam, conspiracy to violate drug laws and cruelty to animals.
The two defendants are expected to be arraigned in Greenfield District Court.
