More than 75 pounds of marijuana were seized from a Hullwood Drive residence in Kinston, according to Lenoir County officials.

Two La Grange residents, Michael Goodman and Alexis Johnson, are behind bars facing multiple drug charges.

According to officials, Goodman, 25, and Johnson, 23, were arrested after the LCSO’s Street Crimes and Rapid Response (SCARR) and narcotics units conducted a drug investigation at a Hullwood Drive home.

LCSO officials were aided by the Craven County Sheriff’s Office, the Havelock Police Department and the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, per a release.

Authorities say that upon the execution of a search warrant, more than 75 pounds of marijuana, along with various materials to distribute, process and package the drugs were located. Evidence was discovered on scene that linked Goldman and Johnson as suspects.

Goodman was arrested at the scene and Johnson was later arrested at a traffic stop with the assistance of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

Goodman and Johnson were charged with:

Two felony counts of trafficking marijuanaA felony count of conspiracy to traffic marijuanaA felony count of possession with intent to sell/deliver Schedule VIA felony count of possession of marijuanaA felony count of maintaining a vehicle or dwellingA misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia

Officials say that Goodman and Johnson were both held in the Lenoir County Jail on no-bond holds due to being out of jail on pretrial release on previous criminal charges.
