TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A federal jury found two Tallahassee men guilty of “conspiring to distribute marijuana as part of a large-scale conspiracy,” according to a press release from the United States Attorney’s Office.

Evidence from investigators at the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) found Tyquan Watson and Dezaneil Cosby Jr. were shipping thousands of pounds of marijuana from California to sell in north Florida.

According to officials, the pair were arrested together in Tallahassee on March 22, 2024, on federal arrest warrants.

“During that arrest, law enforcement seized another 183 pounds of marijuana and a firearm,” per the press release.

Watson bought one hundred pounds of marijuana per week from California and resold it in Tallahassee, according to court documents. Between September 2023 and January 2024, Watson purchased at least 3,169 pounds, or nearly 2 tons of marijuana, and made around $2.4 million, the press release said.

In October 2022, the DEA searched Cosby’s house and confiscated 238 pounds of marijuana and a firearm, according to officials.

Both men are expected to be sentenced on May 2.
