A New JerseyUber Eatsdelivery agent found some ‘extra greens’ in a burrito order she was delivering. And no it’s not guac! What appeared to be an ordinary food order, had a rather dramatic turn with some extra greens-loadedmarijuana.The incident unfolded last Friday night when the driver picked up an order in Lindenwold, Camden County. The food order included a burrito wrapped in foil, a soup, and a water bottle. However, as she drove, an odd order came out of the bag. It smelled nothing like burrito, and she dialed the police. The Washington Township Police told 6 ABC that the driver suspected it smelled like marijuana, and she pulled over in Washington Township along Fries Mill Road and called the police. The police inspected the package curbside and determined that it was not a burrito meal. There was no meat, lettuce beans, or rice. It was actually an ounce of marijuana. The bogus burrito was taken into evidence, and police have launched an investigation to determine the source of the drugs. “The ‘burrito’ is now in evidence, and we’re cooking up an investigation. If you know anything about this high-flying delivery, call our Detective Bureau,” the social media post of the Washington PD reads.Police believe that the food was not sourced from a restaurant, suggesting the suspects may have exploited Uber’s package delivery option to transport the drugs from one location to another. No charges have been filed in this case. The investigation is ongoing.Uber’s website explicitly prohibits the transport of items like medication, alcohol, and illegal substances. The Washington Township Police Chief stated that the driver did the right thing by promptly alerting authorities. “To anybody who utilizesUberEats or Uber as a way of transportation you always have to be cautious, you always have to be safe and keep that in the back of your mind,” they said.An Uber spokesperson described the incident as ‘deeply disturbing’ and also encouraged drivers to report any suspicious activities to local authorities.
