LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — University of Kentucky football player Jordan Lovett was arrested Dec. 30 in Nelson County.
According to court records, the 21-year-old is charged with reckless driving and possession of marijuana after he was pulled over for allegedly racing another vehicle in the westbound lanes of the Bluegrass Parkway.
The citation said just after 10 p.m. Monday, police caught both cars on radar going 110 miles per hour near the 26 mile marker, but the vehicles reportedly reached 120 miles per hour before Lovett slowed down and pulled over in his black Dodge Charger. The other vehicle did not stop.
Records show Lovett identified himself once police pulled him over and said he was “unaware of actual speed” he was going. Officers said the “odor of marijuana” was coming from the vehicle, and marijuana was found in the vehicle.
Lovett was charged with speeding, reckless driving, possession of marijuana and failure to produce an insurance card. He is scheduled to be arraigned Jan. 7. Lovett was also cited for an expired temporary tag.
