NELSON COUNTY, Ky. (WAVE) – A UK football player was arrested in Nelson County earlier this week for possession of marijuana and reckless driving.
Jordan Lovett, a junior defensive back for UK, was pulled over on the Bluegrass Parkway on Dec. 30. The arrest citation said Lovett was racing another vehicle. A KSP trooper clocked them both going over 110 miles per hour. He said at one point, Lovett was going over 120 mph.
When the trooper pulled Lovett over, he said he smelled marijuana and found some in the car. Lovett was arrested and released the next day.
His arraignment is scheduled for Jan. 7.
Lovett is a Radcliff native who went to North Hardin High School. He started every game for the Wildcats this season and was second on the team in total tackles with 63. He was also tied for the team lead with interceptions with two, both of which came in the same game. His season-high for tackles was against Florida in October, when he had nine.
