KXLG – Watertown, SD Watertown Police arrested two individuals on numerous drug charges following a report of a suspicious vehicle on Friday evening.

On March 28, 2025, at approximately 5:24 PM, officers responded to a call regarding a vehicle parked for an extended period in Southwest Watertown. Upon arrival, the police made contact with the occupants of the vehicle, identified as 37-year-old Kimberly Hines of Watertown and 35-year-old Brandon Harper of Fargo, North Dakota.

During the initial contact, officers observed a pipe and suspected methamphetamine inside the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the discovery of additional illegal substances and drug paraphernalia, including methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana packaged for sale, suspected LSD, controlled pills, and a digital scale.

As a result of the findings, Hines and Harper were arrested and transported to the Codington County Detention Center. They are facing the following charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance, Distribution/Manufacture of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana, Distribution of Marijuana, Possession with Intent to Use Intoxicating Substances, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Both Hines and Harper are currently being held at the Codington County Detention Center on a $10,000 cash bond each. The Watertown Police Department stated that this case remains under investigation, and all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
