WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. — An Uber Eats driver detected an odd smell from a burrito meal he picked up in Lindenwold and pulled over in Washington Township to have police inspect the order.

Officer Lou DeStefano responded and found the aluminum-swaddled package accompanied by a bottle of pomegranate flavored water and a box of Lipton Kosher noodle soup. When he unwrapped the foil, he found no meat, rice, beans or salsa, but a plastic bag holding over an ounce of leafy green marijuana, Washington police in Gloucester County said in a Facebook post.

The meal was destined to an address in Glassboro. Police did not say where exactly it originated.

Police had some some fun in the post, writing, “This wasn’t the kind of wrap anyone ordered!” The marijuana burrito is now in evidence and they are “cooking up an investigation.”

And, “If you know anything about this high-flying delivery, call our Detective Bureau at 856-589-0330.”
