Michael Escabi, 31, of Buffalo, was charged with first-degree possession of dangerous contraband in prison, a Class D felony.
According to the report, Holding Center personnel detected the smoke while they were touring the area Feb. 17 and discovered a blanket wedged under a cell door.
Garcia said the personnel talked with Escabi, the only occupant of the cell, and confiscated the alleged contraband.
