(KIMT NEWS 3)–After a December meeting with Winona City Council, it has been decided there will be no limit on the number of retail cannabis businesses the city can have.
This comes after the initial proposal on the cannabis ordinance – capped the number of businesses at three. City staff had previously recommended the cannabis ordinance mirror the city of Winona’s alcohol ordinance to allow consistency for citizens, city administration, and law enforcement. Although that limit has been removed, there are still restrictions for location and hours of operation. General cannabis business licensing applications open up in Minnesota on February 18 and close March 14.
