MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Agents seized about 150 pounds of marijuana after pulling over a vehicle on I-40, according to West Tennessee Drug Task Force Director Johnie Carter.
The traffic stop happened Sunday, March 9, when agents pulled over a rental van for a traffic violation, Carter said.
During the stop, agents asked to search the vehicle, a request that the driver denied. A K-9 alerted agents to the possibility of drugs inside of the vehicle, and agents discovered the marijuana hidden throughout the van, Carter said.
A picture shared by the West Tennessee Drug Task Force showed more than 100 bags, apparently vacuum-sealed. In some of those bags marijuana can be seen.
Carter said one woman was arrested and charged in connection with the drug bust.
